Albert is a common frog, Rana Temporaria, who is an aristocrat due to the orange markings around his mouth. Clive is a man in his late forties who is continually confusing Albert due to his, in Albert’s view, confusing and unfathomable human behaviour. Because of his wisdom and somewhat pragmatic view of life, Albert is able to help Clive with sound advice and encouragement. They are very fond of each other. They meet by an old stone bridge over a small stream in a village somewhere where Clive has an old cottage and Albert the river.
